Initial thesis from 2013 can be seen here: An Overlooked Opportunity: WhiteWave Foods, A Long Thesis
- WWAV was poised to move higher due to meeting consumer niche product need and demand segmentation.
- Lactose-free consumers had but only one choice of product and WWAV changed that.
- WIC (Woman, Infants, and Children) offered one lactose-free item to middle class and below recipients. WWAV broke this market out to capitalize off of growing health trend.
- Correctly predicted CEO Greg Engle would look to acquire a company and then prepare WWAV to be acquired. WWAV went on to acquire Earthbound Farms in a $600 million dollar all-cash deal. And most recently WWAV received a BO bid by Danone for $56.25/share.
WhiteWave Foods was a big winner for Cosmon Capital and I am thrilled for the company’s success and recent news.
